LIM Serh Ghee, COO, ST Aerospace

Mr Lim Serh Ghee was appointed Chief Operating Officer and President, Defence Business, on 1 June 2010. He oversees operations within the group of companies at ST Aerospace.

Prior to his current appointment, between 2006 and 2010, Mr Lim served as Executive Vice President of Aircraft Maintenance & Modification (AMM), a business segment of ST Aerospace. He was responsible for the development of ST Aerospace’s airframe maintenance and modification business as well as the growth of the engineering and development division of the group.

Mr Lim began his career with ST Aerospace as a mechanical engineer in 1984, and was a member of the team that successfully upgraded the McDonnell Douglas A4 Skyhawk with the GE F404 engine. By July 1991, he headed the Aeroscience and Mechanical Systems department, and oversaw the joint development of the EC120 Colibri helicopter as the Programme Manager. Mr Lim was promoted to Deputy Director of the department in 1994 and served concurrently as General Manager of Singapore Precision Repair and Overhaul Pte Ltd (S-PRO).

Mr Lim rose to become Vice President of the group’s in-house Engineering and Development Centre in 1996 and became the centre’s Senior Vice President (SVP) two years later. During his tenure, he spearheaded the Turkish F5 Tiger upgrade and the Boeing 757-200 Passenger-To-Freighter conversion programmes, as well as initiated the development of ST Aerospace’s first mission computer and operational flight programmes.

In May 2002, Mr Lim became SVP of the then Engineering and Materials Services business segment, and led the group’s drive in the Maintenance-By-the-Hour (MBHTM) initiative.

Mr Lim serves on the boards of ST Aerospace’s subsidiaries and associate companies, including ST Aerospace Engineering Pte Ltd, ST Aerospace Services Co Pte Ltd, ST Aerospace International Structures Pte Ltd, ST Aerospace Mobile, Inc., ST Aerospace San Antonio, L.P., ST Aerospace Panama, Inc., Shanghai Technologies Aerospace Company Limited (STARCO), ST Aerospace Guangzhou Aero-Technologies & Engineering Co Ltd, Pacific Flight Services Pte Ltd and Composite Technology International Pte Ltd, VisionTech Engineering Pte Ltd and Precision Products Singapore Pte Ltd.

Mr Lim graduated with a Second Class Upper Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. He was conferred with the Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan. He also attended the Programme for Management Development in Harvard Business School.

Mr Lim enjoys bowling and reading.

Gary Martin, VP Sales, Marketing and Service Programs, Bombardier

Gary Martin was appointed Vice President, Sales, Marketing, and Service Programs for Bombardier Customer Services in June 2010. In this role, Mr. Martin is responsible for all aftermarket sales, marketing, and communications activities for both Bombardier Commercial Aircraft and Bombardier Business Aircraft programs. In addition, he is responsible for driving development of new and enhanced cost-per-hour service programs as well as other innovative aftermarket services.

With 25 years in the aerospace industry, Mr. Martin brings a wealth of experience to his role. Before joining Bombardier, Mr. Martin worked for Honeywell where he held leadership positions in Operations, Customer & Product Support, and the Air Transport & Regional Business. Prior to that, he served as the senior director of Base Maintenance and senior director of Engineering and Maintenance Support at America West Airlines in Phoenix. He also held engineering and fleet management roles at American Airlines in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Eastern Airlines in Miami, Florida.

Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Gary holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech, an MBA from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, is Project Management Professional (PMP) certified, and is a licensed FAA Airframe and Powerplant mechanic.
