GD Pedro José Abad Gimeno, Maintenance Director, Logistics Support Command (MALOG), Spanish Air Forces

Major General Pedro José Abad Gimeno is Head of the Maintenance Directorate at the Spanish Logistics Command.  He was born in Valencia in 1955 and graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1978 and from the SP Air War College in 1996.

His operational assignments include the following units: 41st Flying Group, 464th Squadron, 461th Squadron, 151st Squadron.  He performed his duties as T-33, F.5A, Mirage F.1E, and EF.18, pilot.  His staff duties include tours on the SP Air General Staff (Plans Division), SP Joint Staff (Operations Division), and Multinational Staff (Operations Division) at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (Belgium).  He has also served as 46th Wing Commander, Gando Air Force Base Commander, and Chief of General Secretariat at the Air Force General Staff.

Prior to assuming his current position, General Abad served as Torrejon Air Force Base Commander.

Kurt Bosshard, born in 1957, holds an Eng. Degree in Communication Technology and in Business Administration.  His roots are in Semiconductor Industry in which he had several positions at Texas Instruments, Microelectronic Marin, and AVNET Electronics Marketing before he joined the Swiss based RUAG in November 2009 as worldwide business development and sales manager at RUAG Aviation, Department for Subsystems & Aviation Products.  Kurt is married with 2 children and lives in Switzerland and spends his free time with bicycling and scuba diving.

 

Jean-Louis Garançon, Marketing & Cooperation Director, Military Customer Support Division, Dassault Aviation

Jean-Louis Garançon is the marketing and co-operation director of the Military Customer Support Division of Dassault Aviation.

He has 30 years of experience in aeronautical logistic support, in various areas :

  • Technical (display systems for simulators with Thales; geographic/recce ground segment, mission planning systems and technical documentation with Dassault)
  • Management of innovative projects, such as maintenance outsourcing of complete fleets
  • Commercial, in particular as commercial manager for Mirage 2000/2000-5 logistic support
  • Logistics, marketing, industrial co-operation and offsets

He graduated from the Institute of optics of Paris and holds an Executive MBA from H.E.C. Paris.

Jose Antonio Martinez García, Head of Integrated Logistic Support, Airbus Military

A senior Engineer in Electronics, José Antonio (59) joined the former CASA, now part of Airbus Military in 1979 as instructor of electronic systems and avionics for pilots and mechanics.  He spent all his career in various areas of Maintenance and Services, and this for the small military transport aircraft C212, CN 235 and C295, and also for the Eurofighter, and more recently also for the A400M.  José Antonio therefore has great experience in what it needs to support such aircraft with the operators.

Michael J. Howard, Senior Associate, AeroStrategy LLC

Michael Howard joined AeroStrategy's North American office in Ann Arbor, Michigan in May of 2007. Michael has over four years of consulting experience at AeroStrategy with expertise in the military and rotary wing MRO markets, customer segmentation and strategy.

Previously, Michael served as a U.S. Marine Corps officer where he amassed over 1500 F/A-18 tactical flight hours while serving as a combat mission commander and maintenance officer. Subsequently, Michael managed an engineering team at General Motors responsible for the development of the OnStar telecommunications system.

Michael holds a BS in Control Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy (with Distinction), and an MBA from the University of Michigan (with Distinction).

Stephan A. Miegel, Head of A400M Customer Services, Airbus Military

Stephan Miegel (43) was appointed Head of A400M Customer Services in April 2011, after having been Vice President Strategy at Cassidian since 2010.

Stephan Miegel joined EADS in 1996 after having been a maintenance officer with the German Armed Forces over nine years.  He has held several positions in the field of integrated logistic support and headed the system support center for combat aircraft at Manching (Germany), which is a co-operation between the German Air Force and EADS.

Mr. Miegel graduated in 1992 from the University of the Armed Forces in Munich, Germany, and in 2010 from the National Defense University in Washington, DC.  He is married and has two children.

 

José Luis Quirós Cuevas, Sales, Marketing and Business Development Vice President, Iberia Maintenance

Experienced civil aerospace senior executive capable of leading both large business units and smaller specialized teams. A broad based background within the aviation industry including:

• Business operations
• Maintenance and engineering (aerospace)
• Quality and Safety systems
• Aircraft and engine selection
• Business development
• Commercial negotiations

Opportunity to participate in acquisitions (Aerolineas Argentinas by Iberia) and merges (Vueling and Clickair), as well as business development at IBERIA M&E Division, restructuring from cost centre to business unit.

Possessing leadership skills with the drive to achieve constructive change.

Good interpersonal skills and capable of building strong relationships both within business teams, and with customers and suppliers.

Experience as a speaker at conferences requiring fair judgement and balanced opinion.

Emilio Tuñón, Program Manager, NH-90 and Tiger Helicopter, NATO Maintenance & Supply Agency (NAMSA)

Emilio Tuñón graduated from the Spanish Army Officers School in 1982.  For 10 years he served as platoon leader and company commander before getting involved in research and development.

His international career started 18 years ago in the NATO Maintenance and Supply Organization (NAMSA) where he has held several logistics-related positions.  At present he is the NAMSA Program Manager responsible for the support to the NH90 and Tiger helicopters.

Emilio holds a Master (phil.) degree in Project Engineering and in his spare time he is working on his PhD thesis.
