| Roll-up your sleeves! These In-Depth Workshop Sessions go beyond the basics and dive deep into the nuts and bolt essentials. You will gain specific instruction and how-to guidance to dramatically improve performance and operations with regard to the respective focus of each workshop session. | |
| 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. | Workshop A1 Please note: This workshop is now full ADS-B: Assessing Equipage Requirements, Performance Capabilities and Cost-Benefit Analysis of Early Adoption ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast) allows for very accurate aircraft position data to be presented to air traffic controllers and provides dramatically enhanced aircraft situational awareness. During this in-depth, engaging and instructionally focused workshop session you will gain clear understanding of:
| 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. | Workshop A2 Please note: This workshop is now full Extracting the Full Benefits of RNAV, RNP and Performance Based Navigation It is not necessary to wait until every NextGen initiative is in place and implemented to extract RNP benefits from today’s airspace. However, it’s necessary for RNP designers to coordinate with numerous stakeholders over a broad spectrum of issues to extract the most benefits and to ensure that all stakeholders benefit, even in a mixed equipage environment. This workshop session will focus on the applications of RNP procedure design and successful application of Performance-Based Navigation:
| 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. | Workshop B1 Please note: This workshop is now full EFB for the NextGen Operating Environment The fundamental goals of NextGen are to safely allow more aircraft to fly more closely together on more direct routes, reducing delays, and providing unprecedented benefits for the environment and the economy through more efficient operations. This will be done through a transformation of the United States National Airspace System (NAS) and airport infrastructures, and will rely on a system of space-based navigation, real-time surveillance, and digital communications. A critical component of NextGen success is the provision of relevant, real-time information to the flight crew that allows good and timely decision making to allow for optimal and continuous situational awareness. Electronic Flight Bags (EFB) play an essential role in enabling this transformation.
| 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. | Workshop B2 Please note: This workshop is now full Net-centricity, NextGen & the NAS: Implications of Net-centric Operations to Communications New technologies are accelerating next generation communication capabilities and affecting how aviation organizations communicate; expediting the transition to the National Airspace System (NAS) of tomorrow. This workshop will explore:
